The method
One story, told well, to the right people.
The Apex method is a short set of moves that presales teams repeat on every deal. It starts by asking whether the deal is real. It ends with one clear next step.
1. Qualify
Ask if the deal is real before you build anything.
Four questions test the deal. Three yes answers open the full method. With two, the team runs a lighter version and uses it to find what is missing. With none or one, there is no demo yet: hold a discovery conversation first. A team can raise the bar to four. It cannot lower it.

2. Understand
Five things to know before the first slide.
Their vocabulary
What they call the people, the work and the problem.
The specific pain
An example from the last few weeks, in their words.
Who is in the room
Each person's role and what they stand to gain or lose.
What success is
How they will describe a good outcome in six months.
Why now
The event that put this on the list this quarter.
The words you capture here are used again in every script, response and email.
3. Build the arc
One Controlling Idea, told in three acts.
The Controlling Idea is one sentence: who, what they can now do, the impact, and the outcome. Everything that does not serve it is cut.
Act One: the world as it is
Name their pain in their words, state the Break, and stop. Give them the problem, not a solution.
Act Two: the world as it could be
Two Story Demos. The product answers the Break the buyer just felt.
Act Three: the world they choose
A customer story like theirs, the return in their numbers, and one specific, dated next step.
4. The Story Demo
Five beats. Five minutes of product, or less.
Hook
Open with the buyer's own words and their pain.
Break
Show why the landscape changed and old approaches no longer work.
Show
The product, in five minutes or less, one topic at a time.
Land
One sentence that states the benefit. Do not hope they infer it.
Invite
Ask a question that makes them apply the idea. Then stay silent for ten seconds.

Rules the team keeps
Small rules that change how a meeting feels.
Say it three times
State the Controlling Idea in Act One, echo it in each Land, confirm it in Act Three.
Headlines of six words or fewer
If it does not fit, the idea is not clear yet.
Park objections
Note the question, say when you will answer it, and keep the arc.
Name a competitor only if the buyer does
Naming one first hands them the comparison.
5. Prepare, deliver, follow through
The work around the meeting counts as much as the meeting.
Align in fifteen minutes
The AE and SE agree the Controlling Idea, who the protagonist is, who is a risk to the arc, and what each will not do.
Dry run, then diagnose
Run it aloud. After the real meeting, use the Arc Diagnostic to trace a weak reaction to the beat that caused it.
Follow up within 24 hours
An email in the buyer's words, a leave-behind, coaching for the champion, then a second demo or a proof of concept.
Take the course. See it work.
Eight short modules. Modules 1 and 2 are free. Put it into practice in the app when you are ready.
